Axolotl

Axolotls are Mexican tailed amphibians from the cross-toothed newt family. Translated from Aztec, axolotl means water monster. Why is the axolotl our mascot? It remains in a larval stage. It therefore has special regenerative abilities. It is able to regrow limbs, organs and even parts of the brain after loss. These abilities make it so interesting for medical research. We hope that research will one day reach the point where these self-healing powers can also be transferred to humans.
